The 5 Q&A Pairs Every Service Business Needs on Day One

Don't overthink your chatbot setup. Start with these 5 questions. They cover 80% of what visitors ask.

The biggest mistake people make when setting up a chatbot: they try to cover everything on day one. 50 questions. Edge cases. Obscure scenarios.

Then they burn out before finishing and never launch.

Start with 5. These 5. They work for nearly every service business - plumbers, salons, clinics, studios, repair shops, tutors.

1. "How much does it cost?"

This is the #1 question for almost every business. People want a number before they commit to anything, even a phone call.

You don't need exact pricing for every scenario. A range works. "Haircuts start at $35. Color starts at $80. Book a consultation for a custom quote."

Giving a ballpark builds trust. Hiding pricing builds suspicion.

2. "What are your hours?"

Include regular hours AND exceptions. "Monday-Friday 9 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 3 PM. Closed Sundays and major holidays."

If your hours change seasonally, mention that. If you're by appointment only, say so. People don't want to show up to a closed door.

3. "How do I book / make an appointment?"

Tell them the exact steps. "Call us at (555) 123-4567" or "Book online at [link]" or "Walk-ins welcome, no appointment needed."

If you have an online booking link, include it directly in the answer. Remove every step between "I want to book" and "I just booked."

4. "Where are you located?"

Address plus helpful context. "123 Main Street, Suite 4. We're next to the CVS on the corner. Free parking in the lot behind the building."

If parking is tricky, mention it. If your entrance is hard to find, mention that too. Every detail that prevents a frustrated "I couldn't find you" phone call is worth including.

5. "What services do you offer?"

A concise list of your main services. Not everything - just the highlights. "We offer general plumbing, water heater installation and repair, drain cleaning, and bathroom remodeling. Call for anything not listed."

This helps visitors quickly confirm you do what they need. It also catches people who weren't sure if you handle their specific problem.

That's It. Launch.

Five questions. Five answers. You can write all of them in 10 minutes because you've answered each one a thousand times already.

Add them to DropBot, embed the widget, and you're live. You can always add more later - but these five will handle the majority of what your visitors need right now.

Don't let perfect be the enemy of live.
